Richard Tedesco guitar
Nathan Slater guitar
Blending flamenco’s fire with jazz’s improvisational freedom, this guitar duo transforms the guitar into a storyteller.
Richard Tedesco’s 30 years of flamenco mastery (Arte Kanela, The Cat Empire) intertwines with Nathan Slater’s Latin-jazz lyricism (La Rumba, Gian Slater Trio), creating a dialogue that’s both intimate and explosive.
From the percussive grit of rasgueados to the liquid melodies of jazz harmonics, Nylon 48 explores the full spectrum of the nylon-string guitar—its past, its possibilities, and its soul.
Richard Tedesco, a Melbourne-based flamenco guitarist, is a central figure in the Australian Flamenco scene. Richard has currently toured nationally with The Cat Empire and Australia’s leading Symphony Orchestras, captivating audiences at iconic venues such as the Sydney Opera House and Perth Concert Hall. A versatile and accomplished musician, his performances have graced prestigious festivals such as Womad Adelaide, Womad NZ, Byron Bay Blues Fest (with Cat Empire), and various international festivals in Sydney, Adelaide, and Melbourne, cementing his status as one of Australia's foremost flamenco guitarists.
