Doug is a dedicated composer for both 6 & 7-string guitar; excelling in choro, samba, Bossa nova, jazz and roots music. His performance credits in the world of Brazilian music are exemplary, having performed and recorded with Yamandu Costa, Hermeto Pascoal, Mauricio Carrilho, Luciana Rabello, Jorginho do Pandeiro, Ronaldo do Bandolim, Paulo Aragao, Proveta and Lula Galvao.

Melbourne singer-songwriter Diana May Clark established her interpretive credentials by way of award-winning Brazilian jazz recordings and collaborations with virtuoso guitarist/composer (now husband) Doug de vries. She has a background in a cappella and choral music - being a founding member of the international award-winning original vocal group Akasa.
