 Bursting onto the chamber music scene with a triumphant debut performance at Adelaide Festival in 2022, the Australian Wind Quintet delights audiences with interpretations of masterworks from the wind repertory and engaging Australian compositions.

Harnessing their formidable individual and collective talents, the Australian Wind Quintet highlights their alluring sonic qualities and the expressive range of a wind instrument ensemble.

Clarinetist David Griffiths is a passionate educator and performer, he has presented masterclasses and workshops in Asia, Europe, United States, the Middle East and Australia.

Shefali Pryor has performed as guest principal with the Australian Chamber Orchestra and the Auckland Philharmonia, and as a casual musician with the Australian Opera and Ballet Orchestra and the Tasmanian Symphony Orchestra.

A passionate advocate of contemporary Australian music, flautist Laila Engle champions this repertoire through her work as founding member of the award winning chamber music group Syzygy Ensemble and duo with guitarist Ken Murray.

Since 2018 Carla Blackwood has been French Horn Lecturer at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music, University of Melbourne and since 2022 Horn faculty at the Australian National Academy of Music.

Bassoonist Lyndon Watts’s playing has been described as possessing “an ideal balance between utmost precision and wild spontaneity” and has had an extensive career playing in Europe as well as Australia.
