The “Songs for the Soul' vocal workshop is led by Coco’s Lunch one of Australia's foremost female vocal music ensembles. The workshop is suitable for experienced vocal practitioners who want to learn new styles as well as novice participants who want to enjoy new singing methods with a group.

This group vocal workshop is jam-packed with beautiful songs, soulful harmonies and electrifying South Indian vocals. It is open to all levels and abilities from beginner to advanced and may interest choir directors and vocal teachers wanting new inspirations and cultural sources.

Dr. Lisa Young, a World music choral teacher, specialises in konnakol – South Indian vocal percussion and has composed original works for the Australian Voices and Gondawana choirs.

Jacqueline Gawler has studied Brazilian music and is a trained West African percussionist.

Gabrielle MacGregor is a freelance recording artist specialising in improvisation and Emma Gilmartin has had a successful jazz recording career as a vocalist with Tony Gould and James Sherlock.

These workshops are all about getting energised, harmonised, improvised, and connected with a group of like-minded singers.

Coco’s Lunch are warm, inclusive, empowering workshop leaders who love drawing out the best in workshop participants and inspiring them to the next level.
